Detailed product information
The Q-SYS QIO-S4 distributes serial control connectivity across a Q-SYS network so non-networked devices can be controlled near their physical location. It provides four bidirectional RS-232 ports; COM 1 can instead be configured for RS-422 or RS-485, while protocol, baud rate and flow control are configured in Q-SYS Designer Software. This supports documented applications such as displays, projectors, lighting systems and conference equipment without placing serial I/O at the Core. A Gigabit LAN PoE port provides native Q-SYS network connectivity and IEEE 802.3af Type 1 Class 1 power. LAN THRU supports Ethernet daisy-chaining, while a 24 VDC Euroblock input and second DC connector support locally powered chains; Q-SYS documents up to four QIO expanders on one network run when appropriate local DC power is supplied. The compact unit includes surface- and wall-mounting hardware, and the separately sold QIO-RMK supports quarter-rack-width installation in a 1RU rack.
