The Q-SYS PTL-1 is an end-of-line monitoring accessory, not an amplifier or controller. Installed at the far end of a 70 V or 100 V distributed loudspeaker line, it provides a 22 kHz impedance load that Q-SYS can monitor when used with a QSC DataPort-equipped amplifier or CXD platform amplifier. A significant impedance decrease indicates a line short circuit, while an increase indicates a break or other open-circuit fault. Detected failures can create time-stamped Q-SYS Event Log entries and trigger configured alerts. The PTL-1 has one ceramic screw-down connection and an internal fuse for excessive-current protection. Its included installation adapter plate fits most plenum-rated electrical boxes. The unit measures 84 × 84 × 25 mm and weighs approximately 0.03 kg. Monitoring can be scheduled for maintenance checks or operated continuously for real-time diagnostics as documented by Q-SYS.
